October 2008 is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

To help raise public awareness regarding Domestic Violence, and services available for those affected, the agency is sponsoring the 2nd annual “Take the First Step Towards Ending Domestic Violence” campaign.  Last year, over 40 local businesses in Highland County participated in the awareness event, displaying decorated ladders and information about domestic violence and services in their establishment.  This year, the agency is asking for any business, agency or schools to participate in the event, in both Highland and Clinton Counties.  Those who participate will be entered into a contest in which Magistrates Cindy Williams and Helen Rowlands will choose the best window display.  To participate and receive a packet to prepare your display, please contact either office.
